Hey Everyone!
We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our data team and help us build reliable, scalable, and well-documented data models that power decision-making across the company.
This role sits at the intersection of analytics, data engineering, and product/business understanding. You will work closely with data analysts, product managers, marketing teams, and engineers to transform raw data into clean, trusted datasets that are easy to use and hard to misuse.
We are especially interested in someone who has worked in the gaming industry or in a high-volume digital product environment, where user behavior, monetization, acquisition, retention, and experimentation are core parts of the business.
What you will do
You will own and improve core analytics models used across the company, ensuring data is accurate, timely, well-tested, and easy to understand.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building, maintaining, and improving data models using dbt.
- Designing clean, scalable datasets for product, marketing, monetization, and finance analysis.
- Working with event-level data, user-level data, cohort tables, retention metrics, revenue metrics, and acquisition data.
- Collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to translate business questions into robust data models.
- Improving data quality through testing, documentation, monitoring, and clear ownership.
- Helping define modelling standards, naming conventions, metric definitions, and best practices.
- Supporting BI and reporting layers such as Looker, Looker Studio, Lightdash, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Reviewing code, improving SQL quality, and helping the team work effectively with Git-based workflows.
- Investigating data discrepancies and helping stakeholders understand how metrics are calculated.
- Contributing to the evolution of our modern data platform.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with strong technical foundations, good product sense, and the ability to create data models that other people can trust and use confidently.
Must-have experience:
- 5+ years in data/analytics engineering
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong experience with dbt in a production environment.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large analytical datasets.
- Experience with a modern data platform: Git, cloud data warehouses, orchestration tools, and BI /reporting tools.
- Experience designing dimensional models, marts, intermediate models, and clear metric definitions.
- Previous experience in the gaming industry.
- Experience working with AI coding agents, AI-assisted development workflows, or code harnesses for automation, debugging, testing, or productivity.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to work independently in a low-meeting, high-autonomy environment.
Nice-to-have experience:
- Experience with Looker, Lightdash, Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
- Experience with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or similar orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with data testing, documentation, CI/CD, and code review practices.
- Python knowledge for data workflows, automation, or analysis.
- Previous working experience with GCP.
What we offer
Own the data modelling layer with full autonomy. You will have the space to make technical decisions, improve the foundations of our analytics platform, and shape how data is modelled, documented, tested, and used across the company.
We are a meeting-less company: no recurring status updates, no unnecessary sync calls, and no performative process. We value deep work, clear ownership, written communication, and results.
Location and flexibility
We are based in Barcelona, with an office that features a terrace, a BBQ, and a beer tap. We have a flexible working policy. The data team comes into the office regularly because they want to, not because they have to. We prefer candidates from Barcelona, but we can also consider candidates from Europe.
Compensation and perks
We offer competitive compensation based on experience, plus phantom stocks and a relocation package where relevant.
Additional benefits include health insurance, ticket restaurant, unlimited vacations, and regular company off-sites.
The challenge
We currently have 15 games in market and an ambitious pipeline ahead.
The gaming industry is at an inflection point, with AI and automation changing how games are built, operated, and scaled. We are a profit-backed studio with no VC pressure, which means we have the resources and patience to build things properly.
This is an opportunity to own the analytics engineering foundation for a company with real scale, strong business fundamentals, and room to do high-quality technical work.
Who you are
You are someone who cares about both technical quality and business impact. You enjoy writing clean SQL, structuring data models properly, and making complex data easier for others to use.
You are comfortable challenging metric definitions, asking why a dataset is needed, and thinking beyond the immediate request.
